about

5:50 The Alap, tonal exploration of divine movement, is the 1st portion of the Indian Classical Raga. This version took on an improvisational Avant Garde Jazz texture. Sufism is often referred to as the mystical end of Islam however, not all Sufis are Islamic. Sufis can also be extremely talented Ustads, Muslim term, and Pundits, Hindu term, for Maestras and Maestros of musical and rhythmic instruments; singing; dancing; whirling; art and poetry creating and performing praises to the Divine for God realization. The Sufi Zikr, spiritual community circle dance, equates to the Indigenous/Native American Pow Wow.
